Satomi Arai
I joined Shokuya because I wanted to help bring quiet, meaningful Japanese craftsmanship into everyday life — not merely as something special, but as something personal, shaped by the people behind it.
Across Japan, there are thoughtful producers working at a local or regional scale, creating products closely tied to place and tradition. Getting to know these suppliers has shown me how much care and intention go into what they make.
With a background in global corporate and brand communications and marketing, and a bicultural life between Japan and Los Angeles, I enjoy helping that care travel naturally from their hands to new ones, and into everyday moments.
